Junior Mounted Patrol

The Ebony Horsewomen Junior Mounted Patrol (JMP) program was designed to help young African-American and Latino men gain useful insight and skills on how to become productive members of their communities, through the image of America's most cherished icon, The American Cowboy. Our young program participants convene every week under the guidance of adult male leaders, for inspiration, education, and to provide community service as Mounted Park Rangers for the City of Hartford’s beautiful and historic 693-acre Keney Park.

The mentorship, combined with specialized horsemanship training, encourage young men to become confident and civic-minded leaders.

JMP operates on Sunday, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Program fee:  $50 per month

Program supervisor: Chaz Carroll

All training and meetings are held at the Ebony Horsewomen Equestrian and Agricultural Center.
